Bridgewater, NJ - April 15, 2014 -- Rod Ryan, Founder and Chief Executive officer of Open Road Auto Group today announced the promotion of Michael Morais to President.
According to Mr. Ryan, "From his most recent position as Chief Operations Officer and Executive Vice President of Open Road Auto Group, Michael has displayed exemplary leadership for our more than our 1,200 employees, dedication to providing our thousands of customers the best automotive experience possible, and is ready to continue growing our more than 42 years of automotive excellence.
Mr. Morais attended CUNY Staten Island majoring in accounting. In 1997, he joined Open Road Honda as a sales associate. Quickly adapting to automobile retailing, and almost immediately setting sales records for Honda and Acura, he devoted full time to car sales. Within a year, he was named Sales Manager at Open Road Acura of East Brunswick, NJ," Mr. Ryan added.
In January of 2001, Mr. Morais became the General Manager for Open Road Acura of Wayne, leading the dealership to a number three (3) national ranking in new vehicle sales, delivering over 1,500 new Acura's in 2003. Open Road Acura of Wayne was awarded the Precision Team Dealership of Distinction Award in 2002 and 2003.
In December of 2003, Michael was promoted to Vice President of Operations for the Open Road Auto Group. After completing a multi-million dollar facility upgrade at Open Road Honda in June of 2005, Michael led the dealership to the first ever number one (1) national ranking in sales.
Since then, Open Road Honda has claimed this distinct honor over seven times, and finished 2009 ranking second in the Nation for year-to-date new Honda sales.
In 2006, he facilitated the acquisition of property for newly-named Open Road Mazda of East Brunswick and oversaw the renovation and opening of Open Road Mazda of Morristown's state-of-the-art Retail Revolution Center. In 2008 Michael was nominated to the Mazda National Dealer Advisory Council and in 2009 was named National Chairman of the Council.
In early 2010, Michael spearheaded the acquisition and opening of Open Road Mercedes-Benz in Bridgewater, and has been an integral part of the completion of the Open Road Volkswagen and Audi Manhattan project in New York City.
Before becoming a certified public accountant, Marty earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting in 1974 from Baruch College of the City University of New York, New York City. Marty worked for several large New York CPA firms in the 1970's eventually moving to New Jersey to work for Mironov. Martin met Rod Ryan in 1982 and joined his company as an outside consultant. Serving the company through his private practice, Automotive Consultants, he moved into the Controller position. In 2004, Marty gave up his private practice to join the Open Road Auto Group as their full time Chief Financial Officer.
Robert Forcini, a graduate of Rutgers University, took an interest in auto retail sales immediately following his college education. A consistent top performer throughout his sales career, Robert quickly began his climb up the corporate ladder. He was promoted to Sales Manager of the largest and most profitable BMW store of the group, and shortly thereafter excelled to become General Manager. During this time, Open Road BMW of Edison was winner of the 2003 Center of Excellence Award which is presented each year to those who have achieved the highest level of customer satisfaction of all BMW centers. Under his direction as Center Operator, this location continuously remained on top as one of the biggest volume producing BMW retailers in the region, and its stand alone Certified Pre-Owned BMW showroom was the #1 Certified Pre-Owned sales volume store in the country. Mr. Forcini now serves as Senior Vice President of the Open Road Auto Group overseeing the operations of Open Road BMW, Open Road Mazda of East Brunswick, Open Road Acura of East Brunswick and Open Road Acura of Wayne. Robert has been with Ryan Automotive, LLC for thirty years and continues to add great success to the organization.
Andrew Paul graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in Business Administration in 1991. He began his career in the automotive industry as a salesman in 1997. In 2003, Andrew joined the Open Road team as a Sales Manager at Open Road BMW of Edison, quickly transitioning to the position of General Sales Manager, continuing to exceed sales and customer satisfaction records. Andrew has impacted the success of the Open Road Auto Group as General Manager of BMW of Denville, Audi of Manhattan, and BMW of Roxbury winning numerous awards for his overall excellence in the automotive industry while with Open Road. In his current role of Vice President, Andrew oversees the operations of BMW of Morristown, BMW of Roxbury, BMW of Newton, MINI of Morristown and Open Road Cadillac, and continues to impact the success of the Open Road Auto Group.
Joseph Billotti graduated from the University of Hartford in 1987. Although his career had begun as an actuarial trainee, Joe's passion for automobiles led him to a position as a distribution analyst with the northeastern regional office for Lexus, which launched in the United States as a division of Toyota Motors Sales in 1989. After serving in various field assignments in fixed operations and sales, Joe held several department manager's positions in areas such as market representation, business management; distribution and production planning and marketing and merchandising. Upon completing his MBA at Rutgers University, Joe joined an Internet start-up, helping to launch a "brick & click" used car auction model. In 2001 Joe joined a large retail automotive group in northern New Jersey as a sales manager at the company's Lexus dealership. From there he went on to general manager's roles at the company's Land Rover dealership and again at Lexus where he had served for nearly ten years as GM, achieving sales records in excess of 5,000 retail units as well as the "Elite of Lexus," the brand's highest honor for customer satisfaction. Joe also sat on the Lexus Dealer Advertising Association's Board of Directors and he was the first non-equity general manager to serve on the Lexus eastern region's Dealer Council. Joe joined the Open Road Auto Group as a Division Vice President in December of 2014 and is responsible for operations at Open Road Mercedes-Benz of Bridgewater; Open Road Volkswagen of Bridgewater; Open Road Honda of Edison and Open Road Mazda of Morristown.
